Lake Owens, CA   It used to be a very lush lake with lots of plants and animals behind Keeler on Hwy 136. But years ago Los Angeles needed water and built a canal and emptied the lake. Now they have to pay to get the lake going again. And lots of birds returned already. But it's still dry and salty all around.
